UGH, more humiliation life lessons, yet again!!!!

So on Christmas day my daughter and I decided to go to the movies. As I was driving on the 50 freeway in Folsom, CA, and exiting the off ramp, unbeknownst to me I suddenly realized, I was driving too fast. As I tried to slow down, I slid into the curb and the tire rolled over it, I thought the car was done. I also thought here I am, teaching my daughter to drive, and I’m the one who gets in the accident, now that’s humiliating. But, what was great about the situation is there is always something to learn, and to be humbled by. First, to be kind to my daughter and be patient with her learning to drive, I once needed help to learn to drive.

So after I got out of the car and realized nothing happened to it, I was relived, but my pride was humiliated and I was sorry for how I’d been acting with my daughter’s novice driving skills. So I asked for her forgiveness, promised her that I would do better with my patience. Knowing she and I were just spared from getting hurt in the car as well nothing being wrong with the car, I mean my goodness the tire wasn’t even flattened by this incident. Which is just another reminder for me to submit to God in everything. Somehow, my daughter is always there to see my humiliation, which I guess is good, to see me as imperfect and  to see God as perfect. Also, to encourage her to not be prideful like her mom at times, and to remember whose in charge of everything. Oh, and let’s not forget to remind me that, every good thing comes from God and not from me. Honestly, there’s nothing really good in me except him. Thank you Lord for being patient with me every single day, and help me to be patient with others by your great example. Shazza ~ Musings&Rants

    • Shian, thanks, by the way that is a very pretty name, it reminds me of a romance novel name lol. I just like writing down the things that teach me some kind of lesson, so I don’t forget what I’ve learned.

  1. Shazza,

I love you, Sister! That’s how the Lord works with me too… I keep praying, “Lord, help me to stay low,” because I know at any time, pride can rear its ugly head up in me, and then I’m sure to fall… HARD. It’s the same when people put you on a pedestal… “Lord, please don’t let them idolize me and put me on a pedestal, because it hurts when I fall.”

I’m so glad neither of you were hurt, and you saw the Lord’s hand in it. Girl, this story (your testimony) ministered. And the word of our testimony and the blood of the Lamb overcomes the accuser of the brethren… You just did some devil stomping with that funny little story!

    Much love to you,
    Cheryl

    • Amen Cheryl, I love to expose my sin in my blog for some reason, I seem to do it all the time. I hope it helps others to see my sin confessions on this blog lol. I’m glad it ministers to you, it ministers to me and helps keep me humble because I am super prideful otherwise. Plus it’s a good reminder to remember to learn from my past mistakes. Oops, umm not mistakes but SIN!!!

      Blessings, sister
