The Ladybug Chronicals Part 5: Sharing the Gospel

Thinking about when I started writing this blog, and to know that so much has happened specifically to my daughter, my only child, has been fascinating.

Since leaving the nest last year and enrolling at Job Corps., she met a nice guy and married him, all by the end of 2013, November to be exact.  And the Lord allowed me the privilege to see this all unfold, not only that, but to see my daughter’s love for God bloom and become her own, and then to share it with her future husband, and see him recommit his life to Christ,  was amazing.

What is also encouraging is, the word of God and what it says about leaving a godly legacy.

 ~ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. ~ Deuteronomy 6:5-9, ESV

I’m so grateful, to God for saving me.  Then after I got saved he gave me a wonderful church to go to, that taught me how to worship and love the Lord that saved me.  Then the Lord taught me that I had another job to do, and that was to share the gospel with my daughter, and teach her everything I was learning. Which was a daunting task but the Lord gave me every tool needed to do it.  Because, the God of the bible is faithful, and he cares about his people and wants the best for us.

So I want to encourage any reader that reads this, if you have children be faithful to them, and do what the bible commands.  Don’t be afraid to share the gospel, share it.  Don’t be afraid they might turn you off, share it anyway.  But the most important thing to remember is, LIVE IT OUT.  When you sin, confess it to them.  Don’t justify it or tell them you made a mistake, own it.  Show them that you are imperfect, let them see your failures and have them take part in praying for you and with you.  Be an open spiritual book, so your children know how they should access God, in times of trouble, as well as good times.

2 new believers, as of Sunday.

So, as I wrap this reminder up, my daughter and her husband have been good stewards and have shared the gospel with 4 young adults in their dorms and all 4 have received salvation, praise God.   And, the last 2 were saved in the last 2 weeks, what a blessing, to know that the God of the bible makes good on his promises, even to an imperfect man/woman. Seeing my family grow into a godly generation is the best gift of all!! ~ Musings&Rants
